Tail Extensions

Plugs
Plug style tail extensions provide moderate fullness and length to the bottom half of the tail. Best suited for a horse with less hair on top but enough on the bottom half to hide the plug.
Simple to attach, just position plug near the bottom of the dock and braid through the loop.

Hides
There are a few different ways to attach the hides, this is one way. Just remember….. practice makes perfect.
Position the hide where you would like along the dock, then clip the extra hair up. Braid strands of the real tail where the holes of the extension would lay. 3-5 braids depending on the size of extension you have. Pull the braid strands through the extension - a latch hook works well.
Gather strands from the real tail, extension and the already made braid, braid them together once more then put elastic in. Do this with each existing braid for a secure hold. You can do a couple more small running braids if you need more hold but once practiced up, this method usually lays well and is fairly secure.
